Fans of classic horror films will love the next London Film Memorabilia Convention with its mix of dealers from all over the world specialising in vintage and modern film and television memorabilia – film stills, monster magazines, rare dvds, movie posters, autographs and more! There will also be guest appearances on the day from celebrated British movie star David Warner (The Omen, Time Bandits, Frankenstein), actress Vera Day (Grip of the Strangler, Quatermass II) and the lovely Sylvia Sims (Dr Who, The Saint)!
Taking place at Central Hall, Westminster, London on Saturday 12th May from 10am – 4pm admission is just £4 (early admission from 8am £10) this is the perfect place for meeting fellow fans of cult film and television nostalgia as well as for stocking up on all those amazing collectibles! These world renowned events have been running since the early seventies and I was lucky enough to meet the late Ingrid Pitt here only a couple of years ago.
Future guests include Fenella Fielding (Carry On Screaming) and Valerie Leon (Blood From the Mummy’s Tomb, Space:1999) on Saturday July 14th and Honor Blackman (Goldfinger, The Avengers) on Saturday September 22nd. Fans of Hammer Horror will be particularly excited to meet Caroline Munro (Captain Kronos, Dracula AD1972) and Martine Beswick (Slave Girls, Dr Jekyll & Sister Hyde) on Saturday November 10th!
After the phenomenal success of their adaptation of The Woman in Black, Hammer Films have officially announced that a sequel is in the works already! Titled The Woman in Black : Angels of Death, the sequel is being written by author Susan Hill and will be set once again in Eel House, four decades on from the original story with a family moving into the haunted house.
It is doubtful that Woman in Black star Daniel Radcliffe will return for the sequel but let’s hope that Hammer Films finds some roles for the original Hammer horror stars still out there. Imagine how exciting it would be to see a new Hammer horror film featuring Caroline Munro, Shane Briant, Martine Beswicke and Valerie Leon!
