Monster Bash Special - Harryhausen

One of our favourite monster magazines is the American publication Monster Bash, which began in 2002 as a spin-off from the popular Monster Bash International Classic Monster Movie Conference and Film Festival which celebrates classic horror and sci-fi films from the scary silents through to the fear-filled fifties! Edited by Ron Adams, Monster Bash  magazine consists of 56 glossy black and white pages (with colour covers and centre pages) filled to bursting with gorgeous stills, exclusive interviews, nostalgic features and rare vintage advertisements devoted to those classic monster flicks of yesteryear! What is particularly appealing are the real personal stories and monster memories from both the readers and the magazine’s talented writers which bring to life those days of drive-in double bills and late night horror hosts.

The last issue on newsstands was issue 19 with an atmospheric Hunchback of Notre Dame cover painting by artist Lorraine Bush and just published is the very first Monster Bash Special  which is a tribute to stop-motion special-effects legend Ray Harryhausen featuring interviews, rare stills and Ray in his own words on King Kong, his Academy award and memories of his Ymir monster creation.

Monster Bash magazine can be ordered direct from the Creepy Classics website or from Hemlock Books in the UK.
