The Classic Horror Campaign in association with the Rue Morgue UK facebook page presents : CREEPY CLASSIC HORROR TRAILERS today featuring THE MUMMY (1932) starring horror icon Boris Karloff!  Rue Morgue magazine has a tradition of combining coverage of contemporary horror alongside a celebration of the classics and the roots of horror in movies and culture.

THE MUMMY is a 1932 monster movie from Universal Pictures which tells the story of a revived ancient Egyptian priest who seeks the reincarnated soul of his ancient lover Princess Ankh-es-en-amon. Many sequels and remakes followed including four Mummy movies from the UK’s Hammer film studios.

Frankenstein is a 1931 monster movie from Universal Pictures directed by James Whale and adapted from the play by Peggy Webling, which in turn is based on the novel of the same name by Mary Shelley. It was another huge box office success for Universal and in turn led to a number of sequels, the most celebrated of which was Bride of Frankenstein (1935).
