Today we celebrate the birthday of scream queen extraordinaire Eileen Daly- the face of Redemption Films, star of cult vampire classic Razor Blade Smile, avid supporter of the Classic Horror Campaign and lead singer of rock band The Courtesans. Eileen’s horror/cult films include Demonsoul (1995), low-budget sexual fantasy Pervirella (1997), Witchcraft X: Mistress of the Craft (1997), Cradle of Fear (2001) and Braincell (2010).
So let us raise our glasses to the lovely Eileen, wish her a fangtastic happy birthday and a huge thank you from the Classic Horror Campaign and Frighten Brighton for all her ongoing support! Bottoms up! XXX

DEMONSOUL which has a clever story but is very cheap and cheerful also features KERRRY NORTON who would go on to appear in the NEW “BATTLESTAR GALACTICA” and a little cameo from ALLAN BRYCE publisher/editor of THE DARKSIDE MAGAZINE.
The plot is almost like a mash up of HANDS OF THE RIPPER and BLOOD FROM THE MUMMY’S TOMB and with a budget and a slight polish could be a really good horror movie. Sadly as the original does not have much of a budget it is not a really good horror film but is one of those ones that does make you think it has clever ideas.
A young woman having nightmares visits a hynotherapist (a lift;le like HANDS OF THE RIPPER) who hypnotises her and them molests her whilst she is under his influence. This however releases the spirit of a centuries old vampire the Demonsoul of the title killed years before and of whom she is the mortal reincarnation.
Eileen Daly plays the vampire’s human companion who with a cult of satanists intends to bring the vampire aspect back to take control of the woman’s body. A little like the reincarnated egyptian princess of BLOOD FROM THE MUMMY’S TOMB.
Wandering around in a couple of abandoned halls and woods (cheap to film in of course) the film is obviously filmed on a budget of a handful of pounds but on watching it I was struck by how with a modern polish (and a few better actors) the film could actually work really well.
The film is available in a R1 DVD set with other zero budget vampire movies or as an increasingly rare VHS version.
I think EMILY BOOTH might even be in it uncredited but I could be wrong on that one.
Thanks Dean! These truly are some fangtastic and fearscinating facts!
