Hey guys and ghouls! We’re here today to remind you of why the Classic Horror Campaign was set up and to ask for your help! We are all fed up of the distinct lack of classic horror movies (and classic science fiction too for that matter) on network television! In this day and age of hundreds of  television stations classic horror fans seem to have less choice of programming than ever. Let’s not forget that everyone in the UK pays for the four big BBC channels with their licence fee money so we deserve to be catered for just as much as lovers of sport, cookery shows, detective dramas and the like.

What is the point of having so-called minority, specialist and culture channels like BBC2 and BBC4 if they don’t show what the public want to see and can’t get anywhere else? We want the BBC to sit up and take notice of us over the next few months and here is where you can help as well as win a prize!

First of all a big reminder to sign our petition – it doesn’t cost you anything and takes just a few moments to add your name and a short  comment. If you haven’t already signed then please do so today and spread the word! If no-one knows about this campaign then nothing will get done! Let’s see if we can reach 2000 signatures by Halloween!!

Secondly, we need you to email the BBC and ask them to bring back their iconic Horror Double Bill seasons on primetime television! Be polite and concise but let them know how you feel. When you send your email please copy in our email address admin@classichorrorcampaign.com – if you do this, you will be automatically included in a free prize draw to win a cool Classic Horror Campaign prize! The closing date for this prize draw will be December 25th – Christmas Day 2011!

Dear BBC

I am writing to ask you to bring back your iconic Horror Double Bill seasons which you used to screen on BBC2 on Saturday nights. These classic horror films are crying out to be shown again to both an appreciative nostlagic crowd as well as a potential new young audience who have never been given the opportunity to view this important part of our cultural heritage.

As a TV licence payer I would hope that my interests would be served as much as the next person and that you look into reviving the classic horror double bill in primetime as soon as possible.
